I can't find any hidden tracks ! so email me Rob with where they are. Is it a complete record of everything the Move released before signing to EMI? - i.e Flowers in the Rain (single mix) (Rep CD), Hello Susie (abridged version (refer to Great Move sleeve notes) Euan PS I've just caught up with my emails, I don't owe Bruce any money ! Well I won't when he's told me which address to send the money too ;0 PSS Did you want a lift from Stafford to the Trevor Burton gig, Mr Dumes PSSS There's seems to be some confusion as to when Bruce is in the UK ********** Subject: Re: Roy Wood radio interview! I don't know about that but I do know that Radio 2 is on the Astra Satellite in Europe on frequency 9.750H (UK Gold's Channel) Audio Channel 7.74 ********** Subject: A Question Of Great Import... Date: Fri, 17 Oct 1997 06:26:30 +0000 From: Joe Ramsey A rumor that I have heard for years is that there is an episode of Benny Hill where he does a send-up of Roy Wood in complete Wizzard gear and make-up. Anybody ever seen it? ********** Subject: Re: In search of the Move box set... Date: Sun, 19 Oct 1997 13:48:09 -0700 From: Gallandro The Move set is listed in the latest Collector's Choice Music catalogue (on page 12 if you have a paper copy). They have a web site at www.ccmusic.com, but I've not looked at it so I don't know if it's any good. They say they have their entire 35,000-title database online. You can also requset a paper catalogue from their toll-free number, 800-923-1122. ********** Subject: Re: In search of the Move box set... Date: Sun, 19 Oct 1997 14:17:39 +0000 From: Lynn Hoskins Something I was planning on mentioning tomorrow (but I'd better do it now) is that Rob is in the process of getting a discount for FTM and mailing list members. If you can't wait 2-3 weeks, then buy it. If you don't mind waiting just a bit longer, it will probably be worth the wait. Collector's Choice is based in Illinois and they deal mostly with imports. They're charging $34.95 for the box set (plus $5.00 shipping and handling, and possibly sales tax, depending on where you're located.) Rob will let us know soon. ********** Subject: Boxed Set Date: Sun, 19 Oct 1997 18:01:07 -0400 From: Mike Frankel I just got the Boxed Set and I have to say that if you can afford it, GET IT NOW!!! It is incredible. Just the additional songs from what has to now be called the "Something Else Album(Eight Tracks now)are worth it. "Higher and Higher" and "Piece of my Heart" are infinitely better than the BBC Sessions versions. Also the additional 90 seconds of Roy in "Sunshine Help Me" are amazing, with Roy playing "Strangers in the Night" Finally hearing "Vote for Me" is transcendent after 30 Years! Not to mention "Cherry Blossom Clinic" in full stereo. There are other gems as well and I am staggered beyond words. What a wonderful day!! ********** Subject: "Looking In" bootleg Date: Sun, 19 Oct 1997 17:43:30 +0000 From: Lynn Hoskins A fellow Move fan (who has a mailing list phobia) wrote to me today saying that he's found a Move bootleg called "Looking In". Here's what's on it: "Colour Me Pop" TV Show BBC TV 1967: I CAN HEAR THE GRASS GROW/FIRE BRIGADE/BLACKBERRY WAY "Radio Haus" Stockholm, Sweden 1967: SOMETHING ELSE/FLOWERS IN THE RAIN/WHY/HEY GRANDMA/SO YOU WANNA BE A ROCK & ROLL STAR/I CAN HEAR THE GRASS GROW "Beat Beat Beat" German TV, 1967: NIGHT OF FEAR/WALK UPON THE WATER Dutch TV, 1969: SUNSHINE HELP ME/FLOWERS IN THE RAIN "Beat Club" German TV, 1970: WHEN ALICE COMES BACK FROM THE FARM "Old Gray Whistle Test" UK TV, 1971: WORDS OF AARON "Cherokee Studios, UK, 1974, Roy Wood's Wizzard: BALL PARK INCIDENT/FOREVER/SALT PEANUTS/THIS IS THE STORY OF MY LOVE/CALIFORNIA MAN/EDDY'S ROCK He says it runs 70 minutes and the sound quality is excellent. Anyone here familiar with this CD? ********** Subject: Speaking of Move boots... Date: Sun, 19 Oct 1997 18:24:46 -0700 (PDT) From: braitman@sirius.com (Stephen M. H. Braitman) I've had a boot LP for about 20 years. It's called "Omnibus" (Melvin Records) and includes the following: Recorded in Sweden in 1967: Something Else Flowers in the Rain Why? Hey Grandma So You Want To Be A Rock n Roll Star I Can Hear The Grass Grow Recorded Marquee Club, London, 1968 So You Want To Be A Rock n Roll Star Stephanie Knows Who Something Else It'll Be Me Sunshine Help Me Recorded Fillmore West, SF, Oct 1969 Open My Eyes ---- Has any of this material been re-released on boot CD, with cleaned-up sound? Thanks. ********** Subject: Boot info Date: Sun, 19 Oct 1997 22:37:20 -0400 From: Mike Frankel To answer Lynn and Stephen: The CD Bootleg "Looking In" has the live material from Sweden Much cleaned up and of course the new Boxed Set has the expanded "Something Else" with as good sound as it will probaly ever get, since the original tapes were used, I think, for the first time in a CD release. Looking In is well worth the price, but then again I will buy any Move material any time anywhere. As for "Open My eyes, the quality on "Omnibus" is about the best as it gets, which is pretty horrible. It does bring up the thought that hopefully more live tapes exist for the Fillmore shows and maybe better quality ones will surface some day. We can only hope. There is also a Fairport Convention CD just out with Roy playing with Richard Thompson on one track. Perhaps my friend, and fellow subscriber to this list, Bill Reynolds will fill in the details as I have not yet gotten the disc as of yet, and I know he has it. ********** Subject: Re: Boot info Date: Mon, 20 Oct 1997 19:54:29 -0700 From: Bill Reynolds Everybody no doubt knows that Roy was a guest last year at a Fairport Croperdy reunion. A CD called Who Knows Where the Time Goes was just released in the UK and Roy and Richard Thompson play together on a 3:50 version of I Heard it Through the Grapevine.
