Paul Madvig is both politician and gangster. He's attracted to beautiful Janet Henry, the daughter of would-be gubernatorial candidate Ralph Henry. Janet's nice to Paul so he'll use his influence on behalf of her father, but she's really attracted to Paul's best friend and right hand man Ed Beaumont. Janet's brother is attracted to Paul's sister Opal, and Paul is not pleased by this. Just when you think things couldn't get more complicated than this, someone is murdered.
