1993  The NBA draft occurred.  Dallas selected:

       2nd    28   Lucious Harris
       2nd    33   Eric Riley

1993  Traded the draft rights to 2nd round draft pick (#33) Eric Riley 
      to Houston for the rights to Popeye Jones (1992 Houston 2nd round
      pick).

1994  Exercised the option year for Popeye Jones.

1994  Announced that restricted free agent Randy White would not be
      extended a qualifying offer.

1994  Announced that the option year for Tim Legler would not be picked 
      up.

1998  The Mavs held press conference to announce that Dirk Nowitzki
      decided that he will join the team for the 98-99 season.  Nowitzki
      had been deciding whether to play in Europe for another year or 2
      or to join Dallas.

1999  The NBA draft occurred.  Dallas selected:

       2nd    40   Gordan Giricek

1999  Draft day trade: Traded the rights to 1st round draft pick (#40) 
      Gordan Giricek and a 2000 2nd round draft pick to San Antonio for 
      the rights to 1st round draft pick (#29) Leon Smith.

2003  Signed Don Nelson to a new 3 year contract to continue as head 
      coach and GM.  His old coaching contract was to expire 7/1/03.

2009  Devean George elected not to opt-out of his contract and remained
      signed through 09-10.

2011  Exercised their 12-13 options for Rodrigue Beaubois and Dominique
      Jones.

2012  Exercised their 12-13 option for Vince Carter.

2016  Salah Mejri underwent surgery on his right knee for minor 
      cleaning.
