Some notes from last night's game vs Philadelphia: The Mavs had a strong first quarter and a good 2nd quarter. But Philadelphia would not go away. The Mavs had 13 point leads a couple of times, but a run at the end of the 2nd quarter by the 76ers cut that down to 6 points. Jason Kidd was an offensive force in the 1st quarter and end the 1st half with 13 points. Jim Jackson was having a good game when he got hit in the face early in the 2nd quarter. He left to get 4 stiches and returned for the 2nd half. Lucious Harris came in for the injured Jackson and he was great. He had something like 10 points in the 2nd quarter. Terry Davis also got hit in the face midway through the 2nd quarter and did return until the 2nd half. The 76ers made a 10-2 run late in the 4th to cut the Mavs lead down to a concerning 2. As a shock, Lorenzo Williams had the key basket that gave the momentum back to Dallas. He made a 15 footer - his only basket of the night. A Philadelphia miss followed by a baseliner by Mashburn pushed the lead back to 6 points with 1:33 left. Kidd had a hustle play at the end of the game where he dove for the ball and tipped it to Jackson, who was fouled. The Mavs won their first home game of the season (first played as well) and their second win of the season 107-100. Our 2nd win last season didn't come until Decmeber 23.
