NBATV was in Dallas on Tuesday filming for the Real Training Camp series (they've had their cameras at each team's training camp for a day). The about 15 minute segment will be broadcast tomorrow (Thursday) at 6 pm Central (it's a 30 minute show, but they're also covering Cleveland's training camp in this episode). It will also be re-broadcast at 9 pm, 10 pm, and many more times. Jerry Stackhouse (sore right knee) and Erick Dampier (sore right hip) continue to sit out with their injuries. Dampier may play in Thursday's game. Preseason: Milwaukee at Dallas (October 25) Dallas opened the game playing very little defense and the Bucks got hot as a result of the matador Dallas defense and jumped out to a 22-10 lead with 5:30 remaining. Milwaukee led 33-22 after 1. Milwaukee shot 58% FG and Dallas shot 40% FG. T.J. Ford had 13 points. Dallas started playing better in the 2nd quarter and the Bucks helped Dallas by making turnovers. Dallas scored 15 straight points over a 4 1/2 minute span to go up 49-42 with 3:30 to go as Milwaukee missed 5 straight shots and turned the ball over 4 times. Milwaukee did score the next 7 points. Dirk Nowitzki scored the last 4 points of the quarter to give Dallas a 53-49 lead at the half. Milwaukee only shot 5-19 FG in the 2nd quarter while Dallas shot 11-19 FG as Dallas out-scored Milwaukee 31-16 in the quarter. Keith Van Horn had 10 points in the 2nd quarter. After 4 free throws by Bobby Simmons opened the 3rd quarter, Dallas then went on a 13-4 run to go up 66-57 with 7 minutes left. Milwaukee scored the last 9 points of the quarter to tie the game at 77-77. For the first time this preseason, Nowitzki played in the 4th quarter as Avery Johnson wanted to use this game as more indicative of how a regular season rotation will be. The first 4 minutes of the 4th quarter were not pretty as the teams combined to shoot 1-13 FG. Dallas found a little more offense than Milwaukee and the Mavs were able to build an 88-78 lead with 5:10 to go. After 6 combined straight misses by the teams, Marquis Daniels hit a jumper with 3 minutes left to give Dallas their largest lead at 90-78. Michael Redd hit 2 free throws and Milwaukee finally connected on their first field goal of the quarter to pull within 82-90 with 2 minutes remaining - a string of 15 missed field goals to open the quarter. Dallas scored the next 4 points. Milwaukee did hit 2 field goals to end the game. Dallas won 94-86. Where as the last 2 games were a tale of 2 halves, this game was a tale of the 1st quarter and the other 3 quarters. Dallas shot 40% FG in the 1st quarter and 45% FG in the next 3 quarters. Milwaukee shot 58% FG in the 1st quarter and 30.4% FG in the next 3 quarters. Milwaukee out-rebounded Dallas 12-9 including 2-3 offensive in the 1st quarter and Dallas out-rebounded Milwaukee 38-28 including 9-5 offensive in the last 3 quarters. For the game, Milwaukee only had 11 assists. Dallas had 11 blocks. The Mavs did miss too many free throws in shooting 21-32 FT. Milwaukee shot 24-30 FT. In playing a game high 40 minutes, Dirk Nowitzki had a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. He missed all 6 3-pointers he attempted, though. DeSagana Diop couldn't find the basket, but he contributed well in the 4th quarter with rebounds and blocks before fouling out. He had 2 points on 1-8 FG, 10 rebounds including 6 offensive, 4 steals, and 4 blocks. Jason Terry had 16 points including 3-4 3-pointers. Keith Van Horn had a nice outing and played a key role in Dallas' 2nd quarter comeback. He had 12 points on 5-7 FG and 2-3 3-pointers and 8 rebounds. Josh Howard had his 2nd straight poor outing (after 5 good ones) with just 8 points on 2-12 FG. He did have 9 rebounds in his 37 minutes. Marquis Daniels had a nice outing with 20 points and 5 rebounds. It was a short rotation as only 8 players saw significant minutes. T.J. Ford had a good 1st quarter with 13 points, but only had 1 point the rest of the way. He also had 8 turnovers and just 1 assist - not good from your point. Michael Redd had 22 points and 6 rebounds. In his last game as a Buck (he was traded to New Orleans today), Desmond Mason had 13 points. Bobby Simmons had 14 points including 4-12 FG and 8 rebounds. shooting worse was Maurice Williams at 1-11 FG.
