The Mavs held their kickoff luncheon today.  Some notes from the luncheon
(with many thanks to Sully for the invite).

Jamal Mashburn says he will dress Friday, but it will be the coach's
decision [more likely trainer's] if he will play.  He will not be starting.

Jason Kidd and Jim Jackson were seated next to each other (seating for the
players was alphabetically) and got along fine - talking and laughing with
each other.  There has been no signs of trouble between the two all
pre-season.

When Erick Strickland was introduced, the rest of the players gave him a
standing ovation.

Master of Ceremonies Norm Hitzges had the line of the night with:
"Last year's team was the run-and-gun, this year's team will be the
run-and-make."  [The Mavs shot a pathetic 42% FG last season.]

Cleamons' speach was one that stress team unity.  He expanded the word
team as "Together Everyone Achieves More".
