Yes! The Mavs have reached an agreement with free agent Erick Strickland for a 6 year, $13.5 million contract with a player opt-out option after the 4th year. The contract will not actually be signed until the salary cap increases August 15. Don Nelson and Strickland played a round of golf Friday in California (location of the Fila league) and the two reached the agreement on the course. Strickland, who averaged 27.3 (highest in the league) points in the Fila league, will not participate in the Rocky Mountain Review that starts this weekend due to a sore heel. Strick had been playing with the sore heel, but is now returning to Dallas to receive treatment. Per the contract agreement, he has broken off talks with Denver and will cancel his scheduled workout with Miami next week. Strickland: "I'm a Maverick for sure now." Nelson: "Erick's handshake is good, and so is mine." [Happy, happy, joy, joy!] The Mavericks' promotional slogan for next season is "Never a Dull Movement". Single game tickets go on sale 10 am (Central) Saturday, Septemeber 27.
