No official word yet on how long Steve Nash will be out with his sprained right ankle. Nelson said that it is a serious sprain and that he expects him to be out a few weeks. Nelson said tonight (Wednesday) that Michael Finley will not play the rest of the pre-season due to his plantar fasciatis in his right heel. Dallas vs Milwaukee at Madison, Wisconsin The Mavs are still besieged with injures. Nash (sprained ankle), Shawn Bradley (sore back - his back has been bothering him for a month), and Hubert Davis (flu) did not play. Kevin Ollie flew to Milwaukee and played in the game - he missed the Detroit game due to the flu. Michael Finley started despite suffering from a mild case of plantar fasciatis in his right heel. Surprisingly, despite the lack of warm bodies, Jason Sasser and Kebu Stewart did not play - coach's decision. The game sounded like a sloppy, ugly game (but not as ugly as the Detroit game). The Mavs went on a 6-0 run to go up 13-7 early in the quarter. Milwaukee went on a 7-1 run to pull within 1 at 16-17 and closed the quarter with an 11-0 run to go up 27-19 after 1. Ray Allen had 9 points and Robert Pack had 7 points. It seemed that Milwaukee had an about 11 point lead the rest of the game. They were never able to pull away and the Mavs were never able to make it a tight game. Finley struggle mightily in his return to his college town and shot 0-9 in the half. Erick Strickland dislocated his pinky finger on his left hand (he's a lefty) in the final minute of the half, but remained in the game and played a good chunk of the 2nd half. Milwaukee led 55-44 at the half. Vinny Del Negro had 11 points, Allen had 10 points, and Dale Ellis had 9 points. Strickland had all 10 of his points in the 2nd quarter and Pack had 9 points. Dallas only shot 41% FG. Finley did not play in the 2nd half due to his injury. Milwaukee maintained their about 11 point lead through the 3rd quarter and led 82-70 after 3. The Mavs pulled within 6 at 86-80 with 7:45 left on a runner by Cedric Ceballos, but Dale Ellis answered with a 3-pointer and Glenn Robinson connected for 2. A slam dunk and free throw on the foul by Strickland pulled Dallas within 99-92 with 2:50 to go. But Milwaukee scored the next 4 points to put their lead back in double digits. Milwaukee won 107-96. Strickland made his first 9 shots. He had 26 points and 16 of those came after he dislocated his finger. If was the first time Finley has done a donut in a game as a Mav.
