(including 0-8 3-pointers) and Dallas shot 5-18 FG. Williams left the
game midway through the 3rd quarter as the pain from his sports hernia
became too much (he took a pain shot before the game) and did not return.
The game stayed close early in the 4th quarter with both teams holding
small leads. Oklahoma City scored 8 straight points, capped by a
3-pointer by Serge Ibaka, to take a 76-69 lead with 6:45 to go. The teams

Durant's layup attempt, Westbrook caught the ball on the other side of the
rim and put it back up but over-shot, and Steven Adams (OKC) caught the
ball on the other side of the rim and put it up and it went in, but replay

thus, the basket was no good. Dallas out-scored Oklahoma City 26-22 in

rebounds, and 6 assists, and Ibaka had 12 points and 8 rebounds. Despite
the thumping Dallas got in Game 1, they came away with what they wanted -
a split in OKC. The series is tied 1-1. But just like Oklahoma City
could not get too carried away with Game 1 as Dallas was unlikely to shot
less than 30% FG again, Dallas can not get too carried away with Game 2 as
Oklahoma City's superstars are unlikely to combine for 15-55 FG again.

Oklahoma City shot 11-23 FG. A 10-2 run, capped by a 3-pointer by Kevin

assists in the 3rd quarter as Oklahoma City out-scored Dallas 34-18 in the
quarter. A 3-pointer by Anthony Morror gave Oklahoma City their largest
lead at 105-61 with 6:05 to go (and they would again have a 44 point lead
with 2:20 left). The 38 point loss margin was the 2nd largest in Mavs
playoff history. 70 points and 29.8% FG set the team record playoff lows.

City shot 45% (36-80) FG including 12-35 FT. Oklahoma City shot 24-28 FT

poor rebounding as Oklahoma City out-rebounded Dallas 56-33 including 14-9

for the only Maverick in double-digits. For Oklahoma City, Westbrook had
24 points, 5 rebounds, and 11 assists; Durant had 23 points, 5 rebounds,
and 5 assists; Serge Ibaka had 17 points on 7-8 FG and 3-3 3-pointers, 9
rebounds, and 3 blocks; and Enes Kanter had 16 points including 7-10 FG
and 13 rebounds. But as bad as it was, it goes down as just one loss.
Oklahoma City leads the series 1-0.
4/16 J.J. Barea led the Game 1 Oklahoma City during the 2nd quarter
after aggravating his right groin injury and did not return.

half. Dallas came out of halftime acting like the game was already over
and the Spurs took advantage. San Antonio opened the 3rd quarter with a

Memphis the #7 seed and Dallas the #6 seed) and Portland won which gave
them the #5 seed (no matter the outcome of Dallas' game). For the game,

Williams hit 2 more free throws and Hayward got another quick layup and 2

a 91-87 lead with 7:20 left. Consecutive 3-pointers gave Dallas a 97-89
lead with 5:15 remaining. A 3-pointer by Raymond Felton again put Dallas
up by 8 at 100-92 with 3:30 left, but a 3-pointer by Matt Barnes kicked
off 7 straight points by Memphis to pull within 99-100 with 1:15 to go.
Dallas missed, but Memphis turned the ball over and Deron Williams got a
layup on the break with 41 seconds remaining. But Conley nailed a
3-pointer to tie the game at 102-102 with 23 seconds left. Dallas ran the

Anderson was too high and we had overtime. A 3-pointer by Parsons opened

2/5 San Antonio defeated Dallas 116-90 in Dallas. It was a long
quarter as Dallas struggled to find the basket after the first 4 minutes -
Dallas shot 4-6 FG to open the game and then 1-10 FG the rest of the
quarter. San Antonio took advantage and used a 19-3 run to take a 27-12
lead after 1. Kawhi Leonard (SA) had 11 points. And things got worse.
The teams traded baskets to open the 2nd quarter, but San Antonio then
went on an 11-2 run to push their lead into the 20s at 40-16 with 8
minutes to go. And things still got worse as San antonio closed the
quarter with a 15-4 run to take a ridiculous 62-26 lead at the half. It
was a half to forget as Dallas shot just 35% FG (and only had 1 offensive
rebound) and San Antonio shot 55% FG. San Antonio took their laregest
lead at 79-40 with 6 minutes remaining. Dallas did then go on a 13-2 run,
but that only pulled them within 53-81. San Antonio led 88-60 after 3.
Dallas out-scored San Antonio 34-26 in the 3rd quarter as Dallas shot

would be the largest lead of the quarter. Dallas again pulled within 1
point at 81-82 with 4:45 remaining and the game stayed close the rest of
the way. A 3-pointer by Luol Deng gave Miami a 92-87 lead with a minute
to go. The teams traded misses and Nowitzki swished a quick 3-pointer
with 18 seconds left. Wade was intentionally fouled, but only hit 1-2 FT
to leave the door open at 93-90 with 15 seconds left. Miami played good
defense to prevent Dallas from getting the ball to the hot Nowitzki and
Raymond Felton's 3-pointer with 2 seconds left bounced off the back of the
rim. Although the shooting wasn't great, it was a clean game as Dallas
had just 4 turnovers and Miami had 8 turnovers. The largest lead in the

put Atlanta up 79-66 with 3:30 left and Atlanta led in the low
double-digits the rest of the quarter. Atlanta led 86-73 after 3. Teague
had 13 points in the 3rd quarter. Dallas did pull within 9 points with 10
minutes remaining, but Atlanta then scored the next 7 points to go up
95-79 with 8:30 left and Dallas never really contented the rest of the
quarter as the Hawk's lead remained in double-digits. Alanta shot 52.5%
(42-80) FG and Dallas shot 36.5% (31-85) FG. Atlanta shot 14-19 FT and

the game with an 89-76 lead with 1:20 left - Phoenix missed 11 straight
shots (only points on free throws) and committed 4 turnovers. Dallas
out-scored Phoenix 23-9 in the 4th quarter. It was an ugly win (but goes
down as a W, so that is all that matters in the end) as both teams shot
under 40% FG and had high turnovers - 20 for Phoenix and 15 for Dallas.
Williams led the way with 27 points and Chandler Parsons had 15 points

over and Dallas took a 16-4 lead with 5 minutes left and led 28-15 after
1. A jumper by Chandler Parsons gave Dallas their largest lead at 38-19
with 8:15 to go, but Philadelphia then went on a 16-2 run to pull within
35-40 with 3:40 left. Dallas led 49-44 at the half. Dallas held a

11/14 Dallas defeated Houston 110-98 in Houston. Both teams played
with short rosters as it was the 2nd night of a back-to-back for both
teams (and the 4th in 5 nights for Dallas) and Dirk Nowitzki (rest),
Wesley Matthews (rest), Chandler Parsons (rest), Dwight Howard (Hou,
rest), Patrick Beverely (Hou, injured), and Sam Dekker (Hou, injured) did
not play. Dallas took a 20-11 lead 6 1/2 minutes into the game and led
32-20 after 1. And the 2nd quarter got really ugly for Houston as they
just couldn't do anything right on offense and were poor defensively.
Dallas took advantaged and opened the quarter with an 18-5 run to
double-up Houston at 50-25 with 6:15 left. Dallas led 57-34 at the half
as the Mavs out-scored Houston 25-14 in the 2nd as Houston shot just 5-24
FG. Houston did make small pushes in the 3rd quarter and pushed Dallas'
lead down into the teens midway through the quarter and pulled within 13
points twice in the last 2 minutes of the quarter and Dallas led 82-67 after
3. Houston kept fighting and pulled within 10 points 4 minutes into the
4th quarter, but Dallas then scored the next 9 points. Houston then went
on a 12-3 run to again pull within 10 points at 89-99 with 3:40 but they
could not stop Ray-Ray as Raymond Felton connected consecutive jumpers
(including an "it's mine" dribble and killer shot) and when Houston again
pulled within 10 with 1:40 left Felton scored the next 4 points.
Dallas led the entire game. Raymond Felton had 23 points including a
spectacular 15 in the 4th quarter and 6 rebounds, Charlie Villaneuva had
19 points and 5 rebounds, and Devin Harris had 15 points including 7-11 FG
as Dallas had 6 players in double-digits scoring. For Houston, Terrence

(rest) on IL.
11/13 Dallas defeated the LA Lakers 90-82 in Dallas. The Mavs

with 6 minutes left. But Dallas then went on a 19-3 run to go up 28-22
with 1:35 to go and led 29-24 after 1. Dallas held single-digit leads
throughout the not pretty 2nd quarter and a layup as the quarter ended
gave Dallas a 48-40 lead at the half. In another ugly quarter, Dallas
breifly took a 10 point lead at 52-42 with 10:30 remaining, but the Lakers
scored the next 8 points and Dallas would hold a single-digit lead the
rest of the quarter. The Lakers did not score over the last 4 minutes of
the quarter, but Dallas only scored 5 points. Dallas led 64-55 after 3
(with Dallas "out-scoring" the Lakers 16-15 in the quarter as the teams
combined to shoot 10-39 FG). Neither team still could not find much of a
run as as Dallas continued to hold a single-digit lead (1 to 7 points).
The Lakers pulled within 82-85 with a minute to go. Zaza Pachulia hit 1-2
FT and the Lakers missed on 2 3-point attempts and 4 Dallas free throws
capped the scoring for the game. For the game, Dallas shot just 36.6%
(30-82) FG and the Lakers shot 33% (29-88) FG. Dallas shot 23-29 FT and
the Lakers shot 15-18 FT. But a win is a win and it doesn't have to be
pretty. Zaza Pachulia had 18 points on 5-7 FG and 8-11 FT and 16
rebounds, Deron Williams had 13 points and 7 assists, and Dwight Powell
had 10 points and 12 rebounds - no other Mav was in double-digits (but 3
had 9 points). Chandler Parsons played in the 1st half and for the first
time with playing in the 1st half he played some (4 minutes) in the

point lead and Dallas would hold a small lead the rest of the quarter
until the Clippers connected on 2 3-pointers (including one as the quarter
ended) to give the Clippers a 54-53 lead at the half. Dallas used a 14-3
run to take a 78-65 lead with 5 minutes left in the 3rd. Dallas took

points (again capped by a 3-pointer at the quarter's end). Dallas led
84-78 after 3. The Clippers tied the game at 94-94 with 7:15 left and the
game stayed closed over the next 6 minutes. Dallas led 110-108 with a
little over a minute left and Nowitzki banked in a 3-pointer. The
Clippers turned the ball over and Dallas ran some time off the clock and
Deron Williams was fouled with 35 seconds left and hit both free throws to
make it a 7 point game. The Mavs connected on 3 more free throws for the
final score. Dallas shot 55.3% (42-76) FG and the LA Clippers shot 43%
(37-86) FG. Nowitzki had 31 points including 11-14 FG and 5-6 3-pointers

laid an egg to start in committing 3 turnovers and missing 3 shots and New
Orleans scored the first 12 points of the game. Dallas did pull within

quarter as the Pelicans scored 18 straight points to go up 55-36 with 2:20
to go and led 58-40 at the half. New Orleans took a 25 point lead early
in the 3rd quarter and led comfortably most of the quarter and led 94-75
