The NBA announced the contestants for the Rookie Game.  The Rookie Game
pits a team of rookie players vs a team of sophomore players to take place
on All-Star Saturday (February 10) in Washington.  Any player who is
selected to play in the All-Star game will not play in the Rookie Game.

The NBA fined Mark Cuban (Dal owner) $100,000 for "decorum not becoming an
NBA owner" for sitting on the floor along the baseline during Wednesday's 
Dal-Min game.  [They've got to be kidding!]

A group headed by Howard Schultz, founder of Starbucks, has reached an
agreement with The Ackerley Group to purchase the Seattle Sonics and WNBA
Seattle Storm for $200 million.  The sale of the team has to be approved
by the league's Board of Governors.

Matt Harpring (Cle) underwent surgery on his left ankle to repair a bone
spur.  He is expected to be out 6 to 8 weeks.
