Alonzo Mourning (Mia) will miss the entire 2000-01 season due to a kidney
disorder.  Mourning is suffering from focal glomerulosclerosis, the same
affliction that Sean Elliott (SA) suffered from which resulted in Elliott 
needing a kidney transplant.  Mourning will be undergoing 6 months of
medication treatment.  [Best wishes to Mourning and his family.]

TRADE: Boston traded Robert Pack and Calbert Cheaney to Denver for Bryant
Stith and Chris Herren.

Dallas exercised their 4th year option (2001-02) on Dirk Nowitzki's
contract. 

Atlanta announced that they will retired #21 in honor of Dominique Wilkins
on January 13.

Charlotte released Darrin Hancock and Caswell Cyrus.
 
Cleveland signed Michael Hawkins.

Denver exercised their 4th year option (2001-02) on Raef LaFrentz's and
Keon Clark's contracts.

Golden State exercised their 4th year option (2001-02) on Larry Hughes'
and Antawn Jamison's contracts.

Golden State released Yinka Dare, Rick Hughes, and Jerod Ward.

Phoenix released Carlos Daniel and Reed Rawlins.

Washington released Brandon Titus and Milt Placio.

Ref Bennett Salvatore was sentenced to 1 year probation, 150 hours of
community service, and fined $500.  Salvatore had pleaded guilty to income
tax evasion by not reporting as income money receive by down grading 1st
class airline tickets.
