News from March 1.
 
The NBA named Tracy McGrady (Orl) as Player of the Month for February.  
McGrady averaged 29.3 points and 7.8 rebounds as Orlando went 9-3 in February.
 
The NBA named Jerry Sloan (Uta) as Coach of the Month for February.  Utah went
10-2 in February.
 
The NBA named Mike Miller (Orl) as Rookie of the Month for February.  Miller 
averaged 15.6 points including 44% 3-pointers while Orlando went 9-3 in 
February.
 
The NBA fined Chris Gatling (Cle) $10,000 for making derogatory and
inappropriate comments toward a Toronto PR staff member following
Tuesday's Cle-Tor game.

Milwaukee activated Darvin Ham and placed Jerome Kersey on IR with a foot
problem.

Washington released Rod Strickland.  Strickland was released after the team
and he reached a $2.5 million buyout of the rest of his contract (he will
receive his full salary for the rest of this season).
 
Ref Jess Kersey will miss the rest of the season after tearing his
Achilles tendon in Sunday's LAL-Orl game.
