The NBA fined Dallas and Milwaukee $50,000 each for violating league rules
governing the tryouts of draft prospects.  League rules prohibit having 4
draft prospects on the court at the same time and having draft prospects 
compete against veterans.  [Dallas was fined for using a draft prospect in
a 5-on-5 scrimmage.]

Dallas signed 1st round draft pick (#12) Etan Thomas to a 3 year,
$4,479,120 contract with a 4th year at the team's option worth $2,200,942.

Dallas signed 2nd round draft pick (#38) Edurado Najera to a 1 year,
minimum contract with a 2nd year at the team's option.

The LA Lakers signed 2nd round draft pick (#54) Corey Hightower to a 1 
year, minimum contract with a 2nd year at the team's option.

The LA Clippers released Charles Jones.

Free agent Grant Hill (Det) announced that he has decided to sign with
Orlando.  Hill will receive a 6 year, $67.5 million contract from Orlando.
Teams could start negotiating with free agents July 1, but can not
actually sign free agents until August 1.
