Dan Majerle (Pho) underwent surgery on his right hand to repair a broken
finger and will be out at least 2 weeks.

Brendan Haywood (Was) is expected to be out 3 weeks with a torn ligament
in his left thumb.

The LA Lakers released Dennis Scott and Paul Shirley.
