Antonio McDyess (Den) will undergo surgery on his left knee Friday to
repair his partially torn patella tendon.  He could be out as long as 3
months.  McDyess also has a mild sprain of the MCL.

Atlanta released Pepe Sanchez.

Denver signed 2nd round draft pick (#32) Omar Cook.

Houston re-signed Moochie Norris to a 6 year, $22.7 million contract.

Miami released Geno Carlisle and Loren Meyer.

USA Basketball named George Karl (Mil) as head coach of the 2002 men's
team that will compete in the World Championship next year.
