The NBA named Elton Brand (LAC) to the All-Star team.  Brand replaces the
injured Shaquille O'Neal (LAL).  West coach Don Nelson (Dal) gets to
select who will start in O'Neal's place.

The NBA named Darius Miles (LAC) to the Sophomore team for the Rookie
Challenge game.  Miles replaces the injured Stromile Swift (Mem).

The LA Lakers activated Jelani McCoy and placed Shaquille O'Neal on IR
with an arthritic right big toe.

Milwaukee signed Sam Cassell to a 3 year, $17 million contract extension.
Cassell is now signed through 05-06.
