News from January 28.

The NBA announced the reserves for the All-Star game.  The reserves were
selected by coaches in each division who were asked to select 2 guards, 2
forwards, 1 center, and 2 from any position.  The All-Star game takes place
February 9 in Atlanta.  The reserves are:

Baron Davis (NO) underwent surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left
knee and is expected to be out up to 6 weeks.

Rod Strickland (Min) is expected to be out up to a month with a strained
left groin.

Seattle activated Reggie Evans and placed Vladimir Radmanovic on IR with a
sprained left ankle.

Scot Pollard (Sac) suffered a broken right hand during Tuesday's Uta-Sac
game and is expected to be out 6 to 8 weeks.

Jerry Sloan (Uta) shoved a ref during Tuesday's Uta-Sac game.  Expect a
long suspension to be handed out by the league.

Karl Malone (Uta) had 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Calbert Cheaney (Uta) had 12 points and 5 rebounds.
John Stockton (Uta) had 20 points including 7-9 FG and 9 assists.
Predrag Stojakovic (Sac) had 32 points including 5-10 3-pointers and 9-10 
FT, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Mike Bibby (Sac) had 18 points and 5 assists.
Uta shot 54.4% (43-79) FG and Sac shot 40% (30-75) FG.

Rashard Lewis (Sea) had 22 points including 6-10 FT, 15 rebounds, and 5
turnovers.
Desmond Mason (Sea) had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Gary Payton (Sea) had 20 points on 7-20 FG and 5-10 FT, 7 assists, and 3
steals.
Antawn Jamison (GS) had 19 points including 8-22 FG and 9 rebounds.
Gilbert Arenas (GS) had 28 points including 11-19 FG and 5 assists.
Brent Barry (Sea, tendinitis left knee) and Danny Fortson (GS, flu) did 
not play.

Keith Van Horn (Phi) had 24 points including 9-11 FT and 6 rebounds.
Brian Skinner (Phi) had 20 points including 9-12 FG and 14 rebounds
including 7 offensive.

Ray Allen (Mil) had 18 points.
Tim Thomas (Mil) had 14 points and 3 steals.
