News from June 27.

TRADE: Milwaukee traded Sam Cassell and Ervin Johnson to Minnesota for Joe
Smith and Anthony Peeler.

Sacramento signed Rick Adelman to a 3 year contract extension.  Adelman is
now signed through 06-07.  Sacramento also announced the Pete Carril will
resume his duties as an assistant coach - he spent last season as special
assistant to the president.

Memphis pick up the option years for Robert Archibald and Chris Owens,
making both signed through 03-04.

Memphis extended a qualifying offer to Mike Batiste, making him a
restricted free agent.

Jason Williams (Mem) underwent surgery on his left ankle to remove bone
spurs.  His recover time is expected to take 8 to 12 weeks.
