The NBA fined Maurice Cheeks (Por) $7,500 verbally abusing officials and
failing to leave the court in a timely manner after his ejection during
Sunday's Por-Mem game.

The LA Clippers activated Glen Rice and placed Olden Polynice on IR with a
strained neck.

Philadelphia activated Glenn Robinson and placed Willie Green on IR with a 
sprained right thumb.

Philadelphia signed Zendon Hamilton.  The league granted Philadelphia an
injury exception in order to carry an extra player.

Memphis activated Troy Bell and placed Dahntay Jones on IR with left
Achilles tendinitis.

Phoenix fired head coach Frank Johnson and named Mike D'Antoni as head
coach.
