News from February 5.

The NBA announced the contestants for the Skills Competition for All-Star
Saturday night on February 14.  The contestants for the timed event
featuring dribbling, passing, and shooting skills are: 
  Earl Boykins (Den)            Baron Davis (NO)
  Stephon Marbury (NY)          Gary Payton (LAL)

The NBA announced that Doug Collins will coach the Rookies and Michael
Cooper will coach the Sophomores in the Rookie Challenge game.  Bryon
Scott will be Collin's assistant and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will be Cooper's
assistant.

New Orleans activated Bryce Drew.  New Orleans did not signed Tierre Brown
to a 2nd 10-day contract.

New Jersey signed Hubert Davis to a 2nd 10-day contract.

Portland signed Eddie Gill.

Tony Parker (SA) had 18 points and 5 assists.
Hedo Turkoglu (SA) had 14 points and 8 rebounds.
Rashard Lewis (Sea) had 25 points including 6-10 FT and 9 rebounds.
Ray Allen (Sea) had 22 points.

Phi 96, LAL 73  at Phi
Glenn Robinson (Phi) had 26 points including 9-15 FG and 5 rebounds.
Eric Snow (Phi) had 10 points and 7 assists.
Allen Iverson (Phi) had 39 points including 8-12 FT and 6 assists.
Stanislav Medvedenko (LAL) had 12 points including 5-17 FG and 7 rebounds.
Shaquille O'Neal (LAL) had 17 points including 3-15 FT and 8 rebounds.
Phi shot 49.3% (36-73) FG and LAL shot 34.1% (28-82) FG.
Kareem Rush (LAL, sprained right ankle) did not play.
