News from December 12.

The NBA named Elton Brand (LAC) and Allen Iverson (Phi) as Players of the
Week.  Brand averaged 31 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 4 blocks as the 
Clippers went 3-1.  Iverson averaged 36 points and 8 assists as 
Philadelphia went 2-1.

Stan Van Gundy resigned as head coach of Miami and GM Pat Riley was named
as coach.

Houston signed Stephen Graham.  [thanks to MC Wussup]

Dallas activated Josh Howard and placed Rawle Marshall on IL.

Philadelphia activated Lee Nailon and placed Michael Bradley on IL with a
strained back.

Milwaukee activated Reece Gaines and placed Bobby Simmons on IL with a
shoulder injury.

New York activated Quentin Richardson and Qyntel Woods and placed Anfernee
Hardaway and Antonio Davis on IL.
