News from December 24.

The NBA named Carmelo Anthony (Den) and Joe Johnson (Atl) as Players of
the Week for the week ending December 23.  Anthony averaged 33.7 points
and 13.3 rebounds as Denver went 2-1.  Johnson averaged 28 points and 7.3
assists as Atlanta went 3-0.

Chicago fired head coach Scott Skiles.

The LA Lakers recalled Coby Karl from the NBADL.
