News from March 31.

The NBA named Carmelo Anthony (Den) and Jason Richardson (Cha) as Players 
of the Week for the week ending March 30.  Anthony averaged 26.7 points,
8.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists as Denver went 3-0.  Richardson averaged
26.8 points and 6.8 rebounds as Charlotte went 3-1.

Miami signed Blake Ahearn and Stephane Lasme to 2nd 10-day contract.

Brian Cook (Orl) is expected to be out 10 to 14 days with a broken right
middle finger.

Utah activated Mehmet Okur and placed Ronnie Brewer on IL with a strained
right groin.

Indiana activated Jermaine O'Neal and placed David Harrison on IL.

Brook Lopez (sophomore, Stanford, forward-center), Robin Lopez (sophomore,
Stanford, forward-center), JaVale McGee (sophomore, Nevada, 
center-forward), and Derrick Caracter (sophomore, Louisville, forward) 
declared themselves eligible for the NBA draft.
