News from September 7.

The NBA announced that as part of the new rules for 07-08, refs will be
allowed to use instant replay to review flagrant fouls level 2 (a level 2
is an automatic ejection) and fights (to see if any punches are thrown,
which is an automatic ejection).

Milwaukee released Damir Markota.

Samuel Dalembert (Phi) has a stress fracture in his left foot.  He hopes 
to be ready for training camp (October 2).

The Basketball Hall of Fame enshrined the class of 2007.  The 7 new
members are:
 Coaches
   Van Chancellor   coached Houston Comets (WNBA) to 4 straight titles, 
                    won 439 games as coach of University Mississippi
   Pedro Ferrandiz  15 years coaching in Spanish league, 12 Spanish league
                    titles, 4 European Cup championships, 437-90 record
   Phil Jackson     Coach of Chicago Bulls and LA Lakers for 16 seasons, 
                    won 9 NBA titles
   Mirko Novosel    Yugoslavian coach, 99-11 record coaching national
                    team, 494-224 record coaching Cibona
   Roy Williams     over 18 years college coaching, won 2005 NCAA title
                    with UNC
 Referee
   Mendy Rudolph    officiated 2,112 NBA games
 Team
   Texas Western    1966 NCAA Champions, first team to win title while 
                    starting 5 black players

Older news: in addition to being traded to Boston, Kevin Garnett signed a
3 year, $51 million contract extension with the Celtics.  Garnett is now
signed through 2011-12.
