News from March 16.

The NBA named Kobe Bryant (LAL) and LeBron James (Cle) as Players of the
Week.  Bryant averaged 28.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists as the
Lakers went 3-1.  James averaged 34 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 10.8 assists
as Cleveland went 4-0.

The NBA suspended Stephen Jackson (GS) for 1 game for receiving his 16th
technical foul of the season, an automatic suspension for getting the 16th
tech.

Bobby Jackson (Sac) is expected to undergo surgery to repair a broken left
cheekbone.

The LA Lakers recalled Sun Yue from the NBADL.

New Jersey activated Maurice Ager and placed Sean Williams (arrest) on IL.

Houston placed Yao Ming (flu) on IL.

New Orleans activated Sean Marks and placed Melvin Ely on IL.

Ron Artest (Hou) had 18 points including 7-23 FG and 5 assists.
