News from July 2.

The LA Clippers signed 1st round draft pick (#7) Eric Gordon to a 2 year,
$5,443,080 contract with 2 more years worth $6,847,864 at the team's 
option.

Miami signed rookie free agents David Padgett and Jason Richards.

Earl Watson (Sea) suffered a fractured thumb and will undergo surgery on
Thursday.  He is expected to be out 3 to 4 months.

Kendrick Perkins (Bos) underwent surgery on his left shoulder.

The city of Seattle and Sonics have settled their litigation.  The Sonics
will pay the city $45 million and the team will relocate to Oklahoma City 
for 08-09.  If the state of Washington legislature authorizes at least $75
million in funding to renovate Key Arena by the end of 2009 and Seattle
does not obtain an NBA franchise in the next 5 years, the Sonics will have
to pay an additional $30 million.  As part of the agreement, the name
Sonics (aka SuperSonics) and team colors will be changed for the team in
Oklahoma City (no new name yet).
