News from February 4.

The NBA announced the contestants for the Shooting Stars competition to
take placed February 13 in Dallas  The teams consist of a NBA player, a
former NBA player, and a WNBA player.  It's a timed shooting contest.  
The teams are:
  Texas - Dirk Nowitzki, Kenny Smith, Becky Hammon
  Atlanta - Joe Johnson,  Steve Smith, Angel McCoughtry
  Los Angeles - Pau Gasol, Brent Barry, Marie Ferdinand-Harris
  Sacramento - Tyreke Evans, Chris Webber, Nicole Powell

Mike Dunleavy resigned as head coach of the LA Clippers, but retained his
GM role.  Assistant coach Kim Hughes was named as interim coach.

Chris Paul (NO) underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee.  He is
expected to be out 4 to 6 weeks.

Houston recalled Jermaine Taylor from the NBADL.

San Antonio activated Tony Parker and placed Ian Mahinmi on IL.


Cle 102, Mia 86  at Cle
LeBron James (Cle) had 36 points on 9-16 FG and 17-21 FT, 7 rebounds, and 8
assists.
J.J. Hickson (Cle) had 12 points and 5 rebounds.
Shaquille O'Neal (Cle) had 13 points and 8 rebounds.
Michael Beasley (Mia) had 21 points including 9-14 FG and 12 rebounds.
Dwyane Wade (Mia) had 24 points, 9 assists, 4 steals, and 6 turnovers.
Cle shot 29-36 FT and Mia shot 10-14 FT.

Por 96, SA 93  at Por
Martell Webster (Por) had 21 points including 5-5 3-pointers and 5
rebounds.
LaMarcus Aldridge (Por) had 28 points and 13 rebounds.
Andre Miller (Por) had 11 points including 5-14 FG and 10 assists.
Tony Parker (SA) had 18 points and 6 assists.
Manu Ginobili (SA) had 21 points and 5 assists.
Brandon Roy (Por strained right hamstring) did not play.
