News from February 10.

The NBA announced the contestants for the Shooting Stars competition to
take placed February 13 in Dallas  The teams consist of a NBA player, a
former NBA player, and a WNBA player.  It's a timed shooting contest.
The teams are:
  Texas - Dirk Nowitzki, Kenny Smith, Roneeka Hodges
  Atlanta - Al Horford, Steve Smith, Coco Miller
  Chicago - Taj Gibson, Steve Kerr, Cathrine Kraayveld
  Los Angeles - Pau Gasol, Rick Fox, Tina Thompson

Jerry Sloan resigned as head coach of Utah.  Sloan had been Utah's coach
for 23 seasons.  Assistant coach Tyrone Corbin was named as new coach.
Assistant coach Phil Johnson also resigned.

Ray Allen (Bos) surpassed Reggie Miller (2560) for most 3-pointers in NBA
history.

Denver activated Chauncey Billups and Nene and placed Renaldo Balkman and
Melvin Ely on IL.


Den 121, Dal 120  at Den
Carmelo Anthony (Den) had 42 points including 17-25 FG and 5-7 3-pointers
and 7 rebounds.
Chauncey Billups (Den) had 30 points including 5-11 3-pointers, 5
rebounds, and 9 assists.
Arron Afflalo (Den) had 24 points including 4-8 3-pointers and the game
winning jumper at the buzzer.
Tyson Chandler (Dal) had 20 points including 8-9 FG and 11 rebounds
including 5 offensive.
Shawn Marion (Dal) had 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Jason Terry (Dal) had 25 points including 6-8 3-pointers.

LAL 92, Bos 86  at Bos
Pau Gasol (LAL) had 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Andrew Bynum (LAL) had 16 points and 9 rebounds.
Kobe Bryant (LAL) had 23 points and 5 rebounds.
Rajon Rondo (Bos) had 12 points including 5-14 FG, 5 rebounds, and 10
assists.
Ray Allen (Bos) had 20 points.
Shaquille O'Neal (Bos, sore right leg) and Semih Erden (Bos, strained
right adductor) did not play.

Pho 112, GS 88  at Pho
Channing Frye (Pho) had 17 points including 4-6 3-pointers and 9 rebounds.
Steve Nash (Pho) had 18 points including 3-4 3-pointers, 11 assists, and 7
turnovers.
Robin Lopez (Pho) had 18 points and 11 assists.
Beno Udoh (GS) had 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Reggie Williams (GS) had 16 points on 3-9 FG and 9-10 FT and 6 assists.
Pho shot 52.4% (44-84) FG and GS shot 40% (36-90) FG.
