News from April 4.

The NBA named Zach Randolph (Mem) and Carmelo Anthony (NY) as Players of
the Week.  Randolph averaged 26 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 5 assists as
Memphis went 3-0.  Anthony averaged 34.3 points and 8.3 rebounds as New
York went 3-0.

Laurence Bowers (junior , Missouri, forward) and Kim English (junior,
Missouri, guard) declared themselves eligible for the NBA draft.

The Basketball Hall of Fame announced the inductees for the class of 
2011.  The inductees are:
  Players
    Teresa Edwards  won Olympic gold medal in 1984, 1988, 1996, 2000; Georgia
                    University went 116-7 during her 4 year college career
    Artis Gilmore   played 5 seasons with Kentucky in the ABA and 12 seasons
                    with Chicago and San Antonio in the NBA; ABA MVP and 
                    Rookie of the Year 1972; won 1975 ABA Championship
    Chris Mullin    played 13 seasons with Golden State Warriors and 3 with
                    Indiana Pacers, won Olympic Gold Medal in 1984 and 1992
    Dennis Rodman   won NBA Championships in 1989, 1990, 1996, 1997, 1998;
                    played 14 NBA seasons; won NBA Defensive Player of the
                    Year in 1990 and 1991; led NBA in rebounds 7 times
    Arvydas Sabonis played with the Russia international teams 1981-1989, 
                    played 6 seasons with the Spanish League, played 7 
                    seasons with Portland, won 1988 Olympic Gold Medal, won
                    1982 World Championship Gold Medal
    Goose Tatum     The Crown Prince of the Harlem Globetrotters, played 13
                    seasons with the Globetrotters
  Coaches
    Herb Magee      coach of Division II Philadelphia University since 1967,
                    920-363 record, won NCAA National Championship 1970
    Tara VanDerveer coaching since 1978, with Stanford since 85-86, won NCAA
                    1990 and 1992 championships, won 1996 Olympic Gold Medal
  Contributors
    Satch Sanders   played 13 seasons with Boston (60-61 - 72-73), won 8 NBA
                    Championships, helped develop NBA Rookie Transition 
                    Program
    Tex Winter      57 seasons as NBA and college coach, proponent of the
                    triangle offense

The enshrinement ceremonies will take place August 12.
