News from December 6. The NBA released the 66 game lockout shorten schedule for 2011-12 (see www.nba.com for the schedule) with games starting on December 25 and ending April 26. The schedule is contingent on the new Collective Bargaining Agreement being approved by both the NBA owners and NBA players association, which is expected to be voted on Thursday (December 8). New Jersey named P.J. Carlesimo and Mario Elie as assistant coach. Last year assistant Sam Mitchell was reassigned to a scouting position. Cleveland named Nate Tibbetts as an assistant coach. Portland named Larry Greer as an assistant coach. Minnesota named Terry Porter, Jack Sikma, T.R. Dunn, and Bill Bayno as assistant coaches.
