News from June 25.

Miami exercised their 13-14 option for Mario Chalmers.

New York extended a qualifying offer to Chris Copeland, making him a
restricted free agent.

Sacramento extended a qualifying offer to Tyreke Evans, making him a
restricted free agent.

J.R. Smith (NY) elected to exercise his option to opt-out of his contract
and, thus, is a free agent.

Rashard Lewis (Mia) and James Jones (Mia) elected to not exercise their
options to opt-out of their contract and, thus, remain with Miami for
13-14.

Brook Lopez (Bro) underwent surgery on his right foot to replace a screw
and is expected to be out until August.

Denver named Brian Shaw as head coach.

The LA Clippers named Doc Rivers as head coach.  Since Rivers was still
under contract with Boston, the Clippers traded a 2015 1st round draft
pick (unprotected) to Boston and then Boston then released Rivers from his
contract.

Phoenix named Jerry Sichting, Mike Longabardi, Kenny Gattison, and Mark
West as assistant coaches.
