News from September 2.

Cleveland re-signed J.R. Smith to a 2 year, $10.4 million contract with
the 2nd year at the player's option.

Glenn Davis (LAC) underwent surgery on his left ankle to repair torn
ligaments and is expected to be out 8 to 12 weeks.

Jarell Martin (Mem) was diagnosed with a fractured left foot that will
require surgery.

Atlanta announced that they will retired Dikembe Mutombo's #55 on November
24.
