News from January 9.

The NBA named Stephen Curry (GS) and Jimmy Butler (Chi) as Players of the
Week for the week ending January 8.  Curry averaged 31.8 points and 5.5
assists as Golden State went 3-1.  Butler averaged 38 points, 9.3
rebounds, and 6.3 assists as Chicago went 3-0.

The NBA fined Jordan Clarkson (LAL) $15,000 for throwing a forearm above
the shoulders to Goran Dragic (Mia) during Friday's Mia-LAL game.

Brooklyn released Anthony Bennett.

Chicago activated Paul Zipser and placed Denzel Valentine on IL.

Dallas placed Nicolas Brussino on IL.

New Orleans activated Cheick Diallo and placed Omer Asik on IL.

New York activated Maurice Ndour and placed Mindaugas Kuzminskas on IL.
