TRADE: Atlanta traded Ryan Kelly to Houston for cash.

TRADE: Dallas traded DeAndre Liggins to Houston for cash.

TRADE: Detroit traded Darrun Hillard to Houston for cash.

TRADE: Philadelphia traded Shawn Long to Houston for a 2018 2nd round
draft pick and cash.

TRADE: Portland traded Tim Quarterman to Houston for cash.

Those trades occurred so that...

TRADE: The LA Clippers traded Chris Paul to Houston for Sam Dekker,
Patrick Beverley, Louis Williams, DeAndre Liggins, Darrun Hillard,
Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Wiltjer, a 2018 top 3 protected 1st round draft
pick, and $661,000.  Paul declined his option to opt-out of his contract
(keeping him signed through 17-18) prior to the trade taking place.

Kevin Durant (GS) opted out of his contract, making him a free agent.

Jared Dudley (Pho) underwent surgery on his left to repair a ligament and
undergo a bone procedure.  He is out 3 to 4 months.

The LA Lakers named Miles Simon as an assistant coach.

New York fired president Phil Jackson.

Memphis signed rookie free agent Jeremy Morgan.

Toronto promoted Bobby Webster to GM.
