Thanks to Glenn who correctly stated that Derek Harper's running out
the clock occurred in the 1984 Western Conference Semi-Finals playoff
game 4 - Derek's rookie year.  Derek also showed his toughness by sinking
a long jumper to give the Mavs a 110-108 lead to start the overtime.

The New Jersey Nets will be retiring Drazen Petrovic's No 3 jersey at their
home opener Thursday.

The new Toronto franchise will receive either the 6th or 7th draft pick in
in the 1995 draft, depending on whether Vancouver gets a franchise (to be
decided on next month, I think).  Formal approval of the Toronto franchise
does depend of tickets sales reaching a specified number by a certain time 
and legal betting on NBA games in the province of Ontario must be eliminated.
Neither contingency is expected to be a problem.

in their first home game in the Alamodome.

Jamal Mashburn set a Mavs rookie debut record by scoring 22 points in his
first NBA regular season game.
