News from October 2. TRADE: Chicago traded Will Perdue to San Antonio for Dennis Rodman. To be able to fit Rodman under their salary cap, Chicago renounced their rights to Pete Myers and Larry Krystkowiak. The LA Clippers signed rookie Brent Barry (#15 pick in the draft) to a 3 year contract. Minnesota signed rookie Kevin Garnett (#5) to a 3 year, $4.6 million contract. Phoenix signed rookie Chris Carr (#56). Milwaukee signed rookie Voshon Lenard to a 1 year contract. Milwaukee had selected Lenard in the 2nd round of the 1994 draft but Lenard returned to college for his senior season. Tree Rollins (Orl) announced his retirment as a player and will be a fulltime assistant for Orlando. Rollins had been a player/coach for the past 2 seasons. Jerry Stackhouse (Phi) suffered a hairline fracture above his middle finger on his left hand and will miss 2 to 3 weeks of training camp.
