News from December 5.

The NBA fined Kurt Thomas (Mia) $10,000 and suspended him for one game and
fined Pervis Ellison (Bos) $2,500 and suspended him for one game for
fighting in the Mia-Bos game on Monday.  Alton Lister (Bos) and Eric
Williams (Bos) were each fined $2,500 and suspended for one game for
leaving the bench during the fight.

The NBA named Garry St. Jean (Sac) as Coach of the Month as Sacramento
went 11-4 in November.

The NBA named Terrell Brandon (Cle) as Player of the Week.  Brandon
averaged 23 points including 19-19 FT, 8.8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3.5
steals as Cleveland went 3-1.

Billy Owens (Mia) will be out 7-10 days with a bruised shoulder.  The
injury was initially diagnosed as a separated shoulder.

The LA Clippers activated Pooh Richardson and placed Rodney Rogers on IR.

Minnesota signed Charles Smith (G).

Seattle placed Nate McMillan on IR and activated Steve Scheffler.

Buckler Bologna (Italian league) agreed to terms with Anthony Bonner (with
New York last season).
