Toni Kukoc was named as the NBA 6th Man of the Year.  Kukoc received 45 of
the 113 media votes.  Arvydas Sabonis (Por) received 24 votes, Jayson
Williams (NJ) 14 votes, Sam Cassell (Hou) 11 votes, Magic Johnson (LAL) 9
votes, Chuck Person (SA) 5 votes, Chris Gatling (Mia) 2 votes, Dell Curry
(Cha) 2 votes, and Steve Kerr (Chi) 1 votes.

Magic Johnson (LAL) announced his retirement from the league.

Seattle picked up the option year on George Karl's contract.
