Phil Jackson (Chi) was named as Coach of the Year.  Jackson received 82 of
113 possible media votes.  Mike Fratello (Cle) received 22 votes, Doug
Collins (Det) 3 votes, Bob Hill (SA) 3 votes, Rudy Tomjanovich (Hou) 2
votes, and Lenny Wilkens 1 votes.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim (forward, freshman, California), Jess Settles
(forward, junior, Iowa), and Jeff McInnis (guard, junior, North Carolina)
declared their eligibility for the NBA draft.  18 players have declared so
far.  May 12 is the deadline for underclassmen to declare.

Utah signed Adam Keefe to a 5 year contract.

Hoop Dreams update: the Long Island Surf (USBL) named Arthur Agee as a
player-assistant coach.
