The NBA announced the All-NBA teams.  The teams are selected, by position,
by 115 media members who are asked to select a first team (worth 5
points), a second team (3 points), and a third team (1 point).  Karl
Malone (Uta) and Michael Jordan (Chi) were unanimous first team
selections.

Washington fired assistant coach Clifford Ray.

Kurt Thomas (Dal) will undergo surgery on his right ankle to have a bone
graft and new screws inserted.  Thomas re-fractured the ankle in early May
and it is the same ankle that kept him out of most of last season.  It is
expected to take three months to recover.
