Dallas traded Popeye Jones, New York's 1997 draft pick (if not top 5, else
New York's 1998 pick), and gave Toronto the option to swap draft picks
with Minnesota's 1997 pick (if not #1, else option in 1998 to swap picks)
to Toronto for Jimmy King and 2nd round draft picks in 1997 and 1998 or
1998 and 1999.  The trade frees up about $1.3 million for Dallas to use
towards a free agent.

Toronto renounced the rights to Oliver Miller.

Portland trade James Robinson, Bill Curley, and a 1997 or 1998 1st round
draft pick (at Portland's option) to Minnesota for Isaiah Rider.

Portland renounced their rights to Buck Williams, Rumeal Robinson, and
Elmore Spencer.

Portland re-signed Dontonio Wingfield.

Miami re-signed Tim Hardaway.

Seattle signed Craig Ehlo to a 3 year contract.

Denver signed Ervin Johnson to a 7 year, $15 million contract.

Philadelphia signed Lucious Harris to a 7 year contract.

Orlando signed rookie Brian Evans to a 3 year, $1.58 million contract.
