News from July 9. Charlotte named Lee Rose as an assistant coach. Rose had been the vice president of player personnel for Milwaukee for the last 4 seasons. Negotiations between the NBA and Players Association for the new collective bargaining agreement hit a snag Tuesday morning. The NBA asked for the an extension of the moratorium on a freeze of trades and player signings, but the Players Association refused. Thus the NBA issued a lockout. Negotiations continued and an agreement was reached on the issue of how $50 million in TV revenue was to be divided. The NBA then lifted the lockout a mere 3 hours later. The moratorium was extended to Thursday at 4 pm Central time. Both sides say that no more issues need to be resolved.
