News from November 24.

The NBA named Michael Jordan (Chi) as Player of the Week.  Jordan averaged
37.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists as Chicago went 2-1.

The NBA fined Charles Oakley (NY) $7,500 and suspended him for 1 game for
his altercation with Otis Thorpe (Sac) during Sunday's NY-Sac game.
Thorpe was also fined $3,500 for throwing an elbow at Oakley.

Hakeem Olajuwon (Hou) underwent arthrosopic surgery on his left knee to
remove damaged tissue.  He is expected to be out 8 to 10 weeks.

Denver placed Bryant Stith on IR with tendinitis in his left foot and
signed Kiwan Garris.

Dallas activated Martin Muursepp and placed Kurt Thomas on IR with a
fractured right ankle.
