Houston placed Hakeem Olajuwon on IR after undergoing surgery on his left
knee and signed Charles Jones.

Jerome Kersey (Sea) will be out 6 to 8 weeks with a stress fracture in his
left foot.

NBC hired Isiah Thomas as a color analyst.  Thomas will join Bob Costas as
NBC's number one basketball broadcasting team - replacing Marv Albert and
Matt Guokas.

With the LA Lakers' (11-1) loss, there are now no undefeated teams.
