The NBA named Tim Duncan (SA) as Rookie of the Month for February.  Duncan
averaged 25.7 points including 50% FG, 12.7 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks as
San Antonio went 7-4.

The NBA named Tim Duncan (SA) as Player of the Week.  Duncan averaged 26.3
points including 31-56 FG, 15.7 rebounds, and 5.3 blocks as San Antonio 
went 3-0.

Chicago signed Dickey Simpkins and released David Vaughn.

Orlando signed Kevin Ollie to a 10-day contract and released Spud Webb.

Eric Montross (Det) will undergo knee surgery on Tuesday and will likely
miss the rest of the regular season.

San Antonio activated Chuck Person.

Washington released Lawrence Moten and activated Tim Legler.
