San Antonio re-signed Avery Johnson to a rumored 3 year, $9 million
contract.
 
Toronto re-signed Walt Williams to a rumored 5 year, $20 million contract.

Phoenix re-signed Mark Bryant to a 2 year contract.

New York re-signed Patrick Ewing to a 4 year contract believed to be worth
between $65 and 70 million.

The LA Clippers renounced their rights to Dwayne Schintzius and released
Terry Dehere.

USA Basketball named Del Harris (LAL), Mike Jarvis (George Washington
University), and Lon Keuger (University of Illinois) as assistant coaches
for the 1998 Men's World Championship team.  Rudy Tomjanovich (Hou) had
previously been named as head coach.

Another draft day trade that slipped by relatively unnoticed was that 
Seattle traded the rights to #23 draft pick Bobby Jackson to Denver for 
the rights to #33 James Cotton and Denver's 1998 second round draft pick.
