Anthony Mason (Cha) is out for the season with a ruptured right biceps
tendon.  Doctors recommend that Mason undergo surgery to repair the injury
and say it will take 4 to 6 months to rehabilitate.

Antoine Carr (Hou) will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and
will miss the start of the season.

Atlanta released Kebu Stewart.

Boston signed Walter McCarty to a 3 year contract extension.

Cleveland released Otis Hill and Carlos Strong.
