News from March 1.

The NBA named Allen Iverson (Phi) as Player of the Month.  Iverson
averaged 28.5 points, 6 assists, and 5.8 rebounds as Philadelphia went
8-5.

The NBA named Antonio McDyess (Den) as Player of the Week.  McDyess
averaged 24.2 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks as Denver went 4-1.

Boston activated Walter McCarty and placed Dwayne Schintzius on IR with
pain in his right knee.

Seattle activated Billy Owens and placed James Cotton on IR with a leg
sprain.

Cedric Ceballos (Dal) underwent surgery on both wrists to have screws
inserted to help repair fractured bones.  He will miss the rest of the
season.

Vin Baker (Sea) had 31 points on 15-19 FG and 1-5 FT, 9 rebounds, and 3
steals.
