The official announcement of his hiring is expected to come today (Wednesday). Washington will reportedly announce Gar Heard as their new head coach later today. Detroit named Joe Dumars as vice president of player personnel. The Women's Committee submitted Billie Moore and Harley Redin for nomination for induction to the Basketball Hall of Fame. Moore coach Cal State Fullerton to a record of 140-15 and coach UCLA to a record of 296-181 in 16 seasons. Redin coached the men's team (1948-57) and women's team (1955-73) at Wayland Baptist with a record of 431-66 with the women's team. The Hall of Fame nominees must receive 18 of 24 votes from the Honors Committee to be inducted. The announcement for the new inductees will occur later in June.
