News from January 18.
 
The NBA named Chris Webber (Sac) as Player of the Week.  Webber averaged
30.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 3 blocks as Sacramento went 4-0.
 
The NBA announced the contestants for the All-Star Shootout.  Hubert Davis
(Dal), Dirk Nowitzki (Dal), Jeff Hornacek (Uta), Allen Iverson (Phi), Ray
Allen (Mil), Mike Bibby (Van), Terry Porter (SA), and Bob Sura (Cle) will
compete in the 3-point shooting contest February 12 in Golden State.
 
The make-up dates for the two postponed Charlotte games have been
announced.  The Chicago @ Charlotte game will be played March 5 at 6 pm 
Central and the New York @ Charlotte game will be played February 9 at 
6:30 pm Central.
 
Dallas signed Damon Jones to a 2nd 10-day contract.
 
The LA Clippers signed Pete Chilcutt to a 10-day contract.

Cleveland signed Mark Hendrickson to a 2nd 10-day contract.

Golden State signed Mark Davis to a 10-day contract.
